First Hair Cut

This weekend, I finally broke down and gave Jack a hair cut. He had some serious old man/white trash hair going on. The hair on top was really long, making for an excellent comb over, and under his back of the head baby bald spot (my dad calls it "a hole in his natural") there was a thick patch of extra long hair that my dad thought looked like Hitler's mustache, but I like to think of it as a baby mullet. Every where else on his head was evenly thick and not too long...so it was definitely time for a cut. We put him in the bumbo seat and trimmed the top and the back with some great results. I'm realizing now, as I am posting these pictures that you can't really tell the difference between the before and after shots, but let me tell you there is a huge improvement.

So, here is the before:
And the afters (my mom gave him an unused lip gloss to play with to keep him occupied while we cut his hair). He hates anyone touching his face or head so cutting his hair was not an easy task. (Also, I would like apologize for the wonkyness of  my child's expressions. He was really into putting that lip gloss in his mouth, and I wasn't doing a very good job of taking pictures.)
I think you can almost tell in the picture how we got the top a lot shorter. (Just look at the pictures of him with Andi and Derek, and you'll be able to tell better.)
Derek was also here this weekend for a very short visit. It was fun to see him, and Jack really liked him. Derek told me I needed to get Jack some flannel's like his...well, it just so happens I already had one. After Jack's next nap I changed his shirt to the flannel one and then the two flannel dudes took some pictures together.
A couple of weeks ago Andi and Adam were in Utah for a funeral, and we got to see them. Even though Andi was here under not so happy circumstances, I had so much fun seeing her. I don't think I have seen her in about 2 years. It was just like old times...except we're both married and I have a kid, and we don't live in the same state anymore...but just like old times.
Jack always likes to pretend that he is in my friend's family when they come to visit. Except this time he doesn't look like he belongs like he did with Gloriana and Josh. And once again, he is really in to putting something in his mouth.

I like that phrase "hole in his natural" - quite a good explanation of the back of a babies head. Jack is ADORABLE and I am very partial to red heads! Keep the pics coming.

He looks so cute in the bumbo seat! I love how you gave him some makeup to play with, we used to do the same thing with our boys!

Hole in his natural!! Where does he come UP with these?!? Your dad kills me. Right in my natural.

Nice work with el scissoros, lady! The Hub was soooooo sad when we cut Li'l Mil's hair the first time, but now he looks back at pre-cut pics and admits the hair was really, really bad. Not so cute. You're a superhero for saving Jack from the same ugly fate! :) He'll thank you later.

I can totally tell he got a hair cute! Every little boy needs some manscaping from time to time. (And p.s., was my mouth ever CLOSED while I was holding your baby?)

He is so cute! Love the matching plaid shirts. Your brother is so old. I'm trying to learn more about blogging, so can I ask you how or where you get your headers?
