Life with Jack

Things have definitely changed around here. For one, we don't get any sleep...I guess that's the biggest thing right now. We were doing pretty good for a while though. We had him on a good schedule, eating every 4 hours, and sleeping in between. Then last night he decided he wanted to go back to the "wake up and want to eat every 2 hours schedule". I don't know about you, but that doesn't really work out for me, so we'll have to see what we can do about that. Besides all the sleep deprivation, Jack is still so cute, and I love when he is awake, eyes wide open (as long as it's not in the middle of the night).

Oh, he is DARLING. That sleep deprivation though... HURTS! Hang in there, he'll get his days and nights turned back around soon.

You all looks so happy and peaceful when you are gazing at Jack. He will be able to put a smile on your face many times when you least expect it... Love you

Those first few weeks can be so tough - Evie changed her schedule every week! She also decided that being up all night was awesome. Oh, those were rough times. But then, all of a sudden, at 3 mo she started sleeping through the night and has ever since. It's bliss!

If you haven't already, I'd suggest reading the Baby Whisperer - the EASY routine she described was magic for us. Come to think about it, when I started that routine was about the same time Evie started sleeping through the night.

So cute! I love the picture of Jack and your dad! What a cute little family you have, even if you are sleep deprived! Don't worry, that passes. He will be playing football before you know it!

I was going to say that you sure don't look sleep deprived, Er! I'm impressed. I'm pretty sure the first few months I looked like a zombie, even though I thought I was getting plenty of sleep.

It'll fly by so quickly you'll barely remember what it was like to be up all night. It also helps to pretend you're still in college...partying with a rock-star roommate til the wee hours. Just like we all used to do, right? :) LOVE YOU!! And your offspring. HE'S SO STINKIN CUTE!

I like to come to your blog to remind myself of the end result of how I'm feeling now.... :( :(

awwww- that song. that is the song dave always asks for at bedtime (baby mine). looking at your sweet baby reminds me of mine and is making me want another baby!!

i promise i won't steal yours!

although he is absolutely to die for gorgeous. i don't think newborns are allowed to be on a schedule, so just hang in there for a couple months and he'll get used to living (and sleeping) outside the womb.

just go put him grammie and grampies room for a while and sleep:) hee hee! looks like gramps is in love already.

i wish i could be there to hold the lil fella. he's just as sweet as can be.

love you guys and miss you lots and lots. kisses, smooches, hugs and such!!!

Oh, he is so cute. don't worry, he will soon make longer stretches of sleep again. He is probably going through a growth spurt. I think they go through them at 2 weeks, and then again at 6 weeks, and one after that I can't remember. Just try to take a nap during the day while he sleeps (unplug the phone).
