Last night, I went over to this family in my ward's house to look at thier Christmas decorations. When I say decorations I mean they live in the land of "comfort & joy", a winter waonderland, Santa's workshop, IT WAS AMAZING! She had one big Christmas tree in the front window, with a light on every single needle of the tree, lets just say that I have never seen a tree glow like this before. (When my mom puts lights on the tree she wraps lights around every branch and its gorgeous, but on my neighbor's tree it seriously looked like there was a light for every single needle). She had a new kind of Christmas light on it, they were LED Christmas lights, so there is a certain neon glow that pours out of their house. Also, She has a life size Santa Clause that stands in the window next to the tree and little elves too. Her husband collects snow globes too so there are like 42,000 snow globes displayed all around the house, and she collects Santa's so there are about 89,000 Santas in every nook and craney. It was pretty amazing.
Now, me on the other hand, the extent of my Christmas Decorations is 3 candles from Target placed in my fireplace. I told the lady in my ward not to come over to my house or she would feel really bad for me with my one Christmas decoration. She has so many decorations that they have to get a storage unit to store it all, and rotate decorations in and out through out the season so that she can use all of them. Maybe some day I will be as cool as my neighbor.

My Christmas decorations

and my neighbor's decorations (if you can make it out, Santa is standing the left of the christmas tree in the window).

You know what? I like your decorations! The soft gentle glow of a candle lit fire.. can't beat it! And I bet your electricity bill is lower too! And personally I'd feel a little weird at night with some life sized man standing there in the dark. No thanks, candles are where it's at!
thanks chris! I appreciate the support...and boy are you fast. I seriously just pushed the publish button. way to be on top of things
I think your three tasteful candles are nice and romantical. Much more so than blaring lights and a fat man in a fuzzy suit.
You're right- the tree looks like it's on fire. But seriously, a storage unit?? That has REleif Society past President written all over it.
I feel ya Erin! We are the scrooges of our street. But you know what they say "less is more"
thanks for all the support guys...but don't get me wrong all those decorations do help bring forth a smidgen of Christmas spirit, but they just make my lame attempt look so pathetic.
Hey Erni.. I switched to Beta Blogger - whatever the crap that means. I just used my hotmail address.. is that right? It seemed to work. But, how come now I go back into my comments and you and Andi are both "Anonymous" now.. what the heck??! Help me, oh computer wizard.
The anonymous thing happened to everyone...I noticed that on my blog and Barbie's too. It shouldn't happen with new posts. I don't think Beta is all what it's cracked up to be.
