Musical Memories

Okay everybody, I need everybodies help. I want everyone to tell me what songs remind of you college? I am specifically interested in "the Other sister's" responses, but I would also love to hear from those of you who didn't go to college with me. I think it will be fun to see all the different answers. Ryan Adams, in general, will always remind of college and especially the song "My Winding Wheel"...so now no one else can say that one. Sorry if I stole your answer, but I know there is more than one song that you can think of, so bring it.

I know I'm not one of the "other sisters" but I immediately thought of "party like it's 1999".... even though i was still in high school. =)

Ms Jackson by outkast, the entire album of All that you can't leave behind by U2, bootylicious by D.C., California by Joni Mitchell, Wide Open Spaces- Dixie Chicks, Come away with me- Norah Jones- actually that entire album, anything from the album Hard Candy by Counting Crows- John Mayer, Prayin for Daylight by Rascal flatts, Every Day by Dave Matthews, the Remedy by Jason Mraz. There are so much more i know- but this is everything that came to my head first. It's funny I was talking with my friends here about songs that remind us of college just the other day. Perfect timing! love you-!

Julia, Lori you guys crack me up! I like "party like its 1999", cause I was in college when it turned 2000 and everyone thought the world was going to end and that song was always on. And Lori, I definitely was laughing, and no I won't stop, but I will "whip it good!"

gloriana-you totally thought of tons that I would have forgotten about...thanks, very helpful. but i am pretty sure I won't be using "ms jackson", since that might not be the feeling I am looking for :) hehehe

Let's see, to add to the list:
Jimmy Eat World (It just takes some time, little girl you're in the middle...)
That's Right You're Not from Texas
Afternoon Delight (thanks to Barb)
Anything by Ja Rule and JLo (Play, I'm Real)
Baby Got Back
Teenage Dirtbag (by Wheatus)
Dashboard Confessional stuff
Gimme Some Lovin' and My Baby Got Sauce (care of G. Love)
Jack Johnson (Brushfire FairyTales)
That song on your Colorado Road trip CD- kind of a rap song, maybe about shaking something...I'll have to find it
Reel Big Fish (Turn the Radio Off)

We should all go back and look on our road trip CDs. I think I have a lot of memories from those!

Funny that most of the songs on your lists are also on my list. Probably because I burned CDs for so many of you with these songs on 'em.

Patti, I am glad those songs remind you of "our summer". besides the fact that I met ryan that summer, I had so much fun with you and chris. I love you guys!

Artists in general that remind me of college: Ryan Adams, Norah Jones, Counting Crows, JEW (and calling them JEW instead of Jimmy Eat World), John Mayer, Chili Davis, Aberdeen (am I allowed to use BYU bands??), G Love, Jack Johnson, anything mixed up by Peter...

Songs in particular (NOT by the above artists, just to be concise): Baby Got Back; Rocky Mountain Hiiiiiigh, Coloradooooo; Whatever that song was that Eric Hazen used to LOVE that part that says "I just made you say underwear"--I think it was a They Might Be Giants or Barenaked Ladies song; Come on Over, Come on Over Baby; ummmm....

...oh, and of course the definitive song of our BYU days: Rise and shout the cougars are out...

that's all i can come up with right now. i know there are others, but i'd have to hear them to remember :)
